Our History
Connecting the past to the present and future of this well-known Chicago firm is co-founder Ernie Basic’s son, Brian. He continues his father's legacy by providing masonry restoration services to commercial and residential buildings across the Chicagoland area.
1949
Today
Ernie Basic and his brother, Frank, were 50+ year members of the Bricklayers Union, Local 21. Frank and Ernie founded the company that bears their family name in 1949 near Chicago’s Midway Airport.
Ernie and Frank began primarily as residential builders, specializing in brick two-flats and stonework. Together, the brothers helped build up the entire area and today almost all neighborhoods and suburban communities in the south and southwest Chicagoland bear the mark of their work.
